Chantel Rahme is an experienced makeup artist and senior educator who specialises in airbrush makeup application. She has earned the title ‘The Makeup Expert’ from more than a decade of experience and has worked on high fashion editorials, TV, red carpets and bridal shoots.
WW: What do you want brides to know about your business?
Chantel: I am different from other makeup artists because my work is from the heart. I pride myself on high standards and have many years of educating others on makeup application, as well as 14 years’ experience in the industry. I use my passion and style and my ability to apply ‘corrective makeup’ (makeup that’s used to enhance your best features) to offer brides more than just a mini makeover!
My main goal is to make you look and feel your best.
WW: What’s airbrush makeup?
Chantel: One of my specialties is airbrush makeup. This is a light-weight makeup applied through an air gun machine which produces a thin, even layer of coverage. It creates a flawless, yet lightweight look which never appears cakey. It’s longwearing, making it perfect for the bride.
I use different techniques to ensure the airbrushing creates the best coverage level for each individual’s skin type and I call it makeup magic! It doesn’t transfer onto clothing and in professional photographs it looks amazing! Airbrush makeup is waterproof (bring on those tears!) and it won’t go anywhere until you wash it off.
Whether my clients chose regular makeup application or airbrushing, I use my expertise to ensure they always look immaculate.
WW: What keeps you passionate?
Chantel: Whenever I’m asked this, I say that it’s MY CLIENTS REACTION when I’ve finished their makeup and they look and feel fabulous. As well as being influenced by international runways and designer shows, I also get inspiration from the everyday women who I get to make feel like a million dollars. I was born into the industry and my own Mother was a hair & makeup artist, so I’ve lived and breathed this art for years. I credit my Mother with my talent and to this day she is still my number 1 fan!
