From ballgowns to carriages, classic Fairytale weddings are back in full swing! Once upon a time, we read stories about a princess wedded in an enchanted forest, with an abundance of florals, a horse and carriage waiting and of course a crown on her head… And perhaps, a Fairy Godmother!
We’ve been seeing a lot of elements from fairytale weddings weave their way into weddings all across the world. Every girl dreams of their Cinderella moment, just take it from Britney… Dreams really do come true!
In case you didn’t know, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari had their happily ever after as they tied the knot in a classic Disney princess-type wedding.
The singer donned a classic silhouette, off-the-shoulder gown with a leg split as she went down the aisle in front of a pink marquee at their Thousand Oaks, California home. Britney completed her ensemble with a simple white satin-boardered veil, a 90s-inspired white choker, and sheer gloves, a style nodding to the pages of a story book
The florals were truly plucked from the pages of a fairytale. Britney told Vogue, “We wanted warm and feminine colours including blush, white, cream, and gold, and a lot of various shades of pinks, blush, and reds.”
The bride’s radiance was accentuated even more by the jewels she wore to go down the aisle. Britney’s bridal jewellery totalled 62 carats and was designed by celebrity jeweller Stephanie Gottlieb. Round diamond and pear-shaped drop earrings, a white gold heart-shaped diamond tennis necklace, and an oval diamond tennis bracelet completed her ensemble.
A white horse with gilded hooves pulled a carriage fit for the Princess of Pop outside the couple’s house, which was decked in pink and white roses for the event. The intimate ceremony took place in a blush-coloured velvet tent.
Britney told Vogue, “We really wanted to make this a small and beautiful moment with family and friends.”
The pair drove away in a Rolls Royce (a modern horse and carriage) at the conclusion of the night. Guests surrounded their car with sparklers as they drove away, then returned inside to continue the celebration late into the night.
