A Historic Backdrop
Nestled within the historic grounds of Milton Park Country House Hotel & Spa in Bowral, this styled bridal shoot by Aura Weddings exudes a timeless charm that truly transports you to a bygone era. The venue, with its rich history and grand architecture, provided an enchanting setting that felt beyond charming, perfect for a vintage, autumnal wedding shoot. The wedding venue’s gardens were immaculate and made the reception and ceremony space feel like they were hidden in a secret countryside grotto.
For brides looking for wedding venues surrounded by rolling hills and gardens, with an intimate ceremony space to boot, you really can’t pass up the Southern Highlands in New South Wales.
Autumnal Ambience
The shoot embraced the full spirit of autumn, with a palette of rich creams and warm golds that meshed perfectly with the changing leaves surrounding the estate. While the decor didn’t directly reference the crunchy golden leaves on the floor and trees, it didn’t try and compete with it – rather, it used the natural shift in season as a natural way to play up the decor’s historical references. For us, the chandelier from Starlight Chandeliers perfectly blended all of the shoot’s inspirations and the venue, together.
Ethereal and Historic Styling
Stefanie Louise Events curated a scene that seemed lifted from another time. The styling was meticulous, blending antique charm with the natural elegance and grandeur of the English countryside. The use of vintage gold accents and delicate details contributed to a sense of aged beauty that felt equally rich and enchanting. We love how Boss Botanicals used traditional English garden flowers to add a fresh injection of life into the autumnal scene.
Bridal Gown and Vintage Accents
The bridal gown, a masterpiece from Leah Da Gloria, was a highlight of the shoot. Its lace detailing and billowing fabric echoing the opulent styles of past eras, the perfect match for its vintage location. We’re equally as obsessed with the second dress, though. Which, much like the first, was a masterclass in vintage lace. However, unlike the first which subtly echoed Grace Kelly’s iconic wedding gown, the second wedding dress was more modern, combining delicate lace with a much more modern (and dance-friendly) silhouette.
The Cake
The cake, crafted by Caked by Carissa, was not just a dessert but a central piece of art. Designed to resemble soft, cascading flower petals, the cake took on an almost sculptural form. Layers of cream fondant mimicked the organic, overlapping leaves of autumn, while exuding 1920s glamor. It’s not often we see a new cake design that takes us aback, but the simplicity and vintage touches of this cake make it very ‘pinnable’.
Capturing the Magic
The photography by Aura Weddings captured the autumnal and historical themes in all of its glory. Each image captured the essence of the styled shoot, highlighting the majestic and ethereal quality of the setting. The photos perfectly captured the autumnal elements of the location, while showcasing the fresh and whimsical grandeur of an English countryside garden.
