A Stunning Destination Wedding In Indonesia

While celebrating their fourth anniversary, Joseph surprised Alyce by getting down on one knee. The two decided to have a destination wedding in Indonesia.

“Having a destination wedding gave our guests an excuse to travel and enjoy a special holiday with our family and friends. It enhanced the ‘fun’ element which was our goal. Of course, guests ended up in the pool at the end of the night!”

The afternoon ceremony included a cocktail hour and reception held at the luxury beachfront Villa Phalosa. The villa was transformed from a blank canvas into a romantic setting of beautiful lanterns for mood, an abundance of greenery for life, and a timeless color palette of black, white, ivory and oyster.

Guests dined on a 5-course menu prepared by Bali Catering Company – considered the most reputable caterers in Indonesia. Crowd favorites included the oriental flavored duck confit cannelloni with butternut pumpkin puree, goat cheese espuma and chives oil as well as the desserts being an assortment of sweet bite-sized canapes. Guests were spoilt for choice with a drink menu consisting of wines from the Napa Valley, Chandon, cocktail choices, a selection of spirits and mixers, fresh coconuts and a coffee cart (being Italian this was a non-negotiable!).

“We wanted our guests to have a Balinese souvenir from their holiday so we purchased our bonbonniere from the local markets as and the tags said “terima kasih” which means thank you in Indonesian. As an Italian tradition the silver tins were filled with 5 sugared almonds representing: fertility, longevity, happiness, health and wealth.”
