There’s something in the Hollywood water at the moment – and we’re not happy about it. Yet another young celebrity couple have called it quits!
After almost six years in a relationship, songstress Demi Lovato and That 70s Show hunk, Wilmer Valderrama have announced that they’ve separated. Demi confirmed the split on Twitter, saying that they both decided that ‘they’re better as best friends’.
She continued, “This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years.”
Demi has credited Wilmer as being her support through her personal ups and downs over the years, including a battle with an eating disorder, saying “I’ve been my heaviest in my relationship with Wilmer and also been my thinnest,” she explained. “He’s seen it all and loves me equally, and it gives me confidence to know that.”
The split comes as a shock to fans, as there were Wedding bells expected this year, with Demi calling Wilmer her “soul-mate’ and telling a New Zealand radio station that “I am very, very in love with him. I think—we will probably wait a little bit longer, but—if he asked tomorrow I would say yes.”
