The Brooke Hyland wedding happened twice, first at La Casa Toscana in Fort Myers, Florida, on 21 February 2026 and again at a family-only Catholic church ceremony in October 2026. Brooke Hyland's husband is Brian Thalman, a close friend of her cousin, and he has never appeared on Dance Moms. They met in Pittsburgh in December 2021, when she was home for Christmas.
She and Brian knew from the beginning they wanted a church wedding too, Brooke told followers, and about 160 guests, including much of the original Dance Moms cast, travelled to Florida for the first.
Seven dates mark Brooke and Brian's story so far:
Brian Thalman is a close friend of Brooke's cousin. "Her cousin, who is my close friend, introduced us to one another," he told People. "We did long distance for a few months before Brooke moved back to Pittsburgh." She had been living in Austin, Texas, and was home for Christmas when they met.
He has never been on Dance Moms. Brooke starred in the Lifetime series from 2011 to 2014 with her sister Paige and their mother Kelly, seven years before she met Brian. His job, age and family have not been made public.
They bonded over travel, new restaurants and the outdoors, and they share a dog named Jack. Brooke told The Knot he was "pretty 'go-with-the-flow'" about the planning.
Brian proposed in Pittsburgh's Frick Park in May 2024 with family looking on, and both families went on to brunch. Melissa Gisoni, mother of Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler, had gone ring shopping with Brooke beforehand (The Knot).
The ring is Brilliant Earth's Sydney Perfect Fit setting, holding a 3.25 carat elongated cushion diamond on an 18K yellow gold band (People).
Brooke chose Florida's Gulf Coast for family. "I've been coming to Marco Island and Naples my entire life," she told The Knot, and her mother and grandparents live there. A video on social media led her to La Casa Toscana, a private Tuscan estate on 10 acres, 30 minutes from her mother's house.
About 160 guests travelled in. Brooke and Brian shared a first look, and her aunt, Carrie Matarazzo, officiated: "We wanted it to be someone who knew us, and she's like a motherly figure to me and Brian." Birch Events designed the flowers and the room in pops of blue.
“The one thing he wanted was a sushi table,” Brooke said, and guests ate from a sushi and charcuterie grazing table and drank cucumber margaritas, with a gelato cart before the night ended. The couple's first dance was to Matt Johnson's "The One". Later the room danced to "Summer Love Song", the single Brooke recorded in 2012 during Dance Moms, before the party moved to the rooftop bar of the couple's hotel.
Brooke went looking for a full skirt. She began at Bridal Beginning in Pittsburgh, shopped on in Los Angeles and at New York Bridal Fashion Week, and had returned to buy her first choice when a consultant handed her a strapless mermaid gown by Ines Di Santo. A mermaid is fitted through the hips to the knee before it flares, the opposite of what she had pictured. "I was looking at it on the hanger, and thought, 'No,'" she told The Knot, then she put it on and said yes.
She wore it with her mother’s veil, because she wanted “a piece of my mom’s wedding day on mine”, and changed into an Idan Cohen dress for the reception. Her mother, Paige and Brian’s mother came to the first appointment at Bridal Beginning, and Paige signed off every outfit. “She’s been my rock,” Brooke told The Knot. She wore an Ines Di Santo two-piece to her bridal shower, too.
Paige, her maid of honour, led bridesmaids dressed by Revelry, and much of the original cast came: Kendall Vertes, Chloe Lukasiak, Kalani Hilliker, Nia Sioux and Mackenzie Ziegler, with their mothers Jill Vertes, Christi Lukasiak, Holly Frazier and Melissa Gisoni (People). Maddie Ziegler was away filming, as Brooke explained on a podcast.

"We wanted to have our marriage recognized by the Church, especially before starting a family," Brooke wrote on Instagram on 11 October 2026, adding on TikTok that she has been Catholic her "whole life" (People).
The timing was hers to set. "It's happening a few months after for my mental sanity," she told a follower, because she "couldn't plan it all at once amidst a move and busy season". The 30-minute ceremony was for family only, followed by dinner and drinks at the couple's house. The church and exact date have not been named.
Brooke wore the Karmen dress from Miss Circle, a pearl white Double Duchess Luxe Satin slip with a pearl chain top and a long scarf, chosen for her bridal shower but not worn there. She carried the faux white calla lily bouquet her mother had carried at her own wedding 31 years earlier, so with the February veil, something of Kelly's went to both ceremonies. Kelly wore blue and made the cake, and Brian wore a black suit and black tie. Paige and her boyfriend, Jayvon Thrift, wore coordinating black.
The October service was a convalidation, which brings a civil marriage into the Church. The USCCB’s For Your Marriage says it is “not simply a ‘blessing’” but “a new, free act of consent”, so it is neither a vow renewal nor a second legal wedding.
