Finding the perfect wedding dress can be a lot of work, so imagine the legwork needed to pick out four! When Annie Lawless, a 29-year-old blogger and entrepreneur from San Diego, recently wed her fiancé Jeff Jacobs on the beautiful Amalfi coast in Southern Italy, she did it in style, picking out four different gowns for her wedding weekend. All four dresses were custom creations by the famous designer Pnina Tornai, whose gowns are often seen on the popular wedding show Say Yes to the Dress.
First, Lawless welcomed guests at a Midsummer Night’s Dream themed welcome party, clad in a stunning flare-legged white jumpsuit. For the rehearsal, she changed into something a little more understated (if you can call it that) in a crop top and skirt.
On the wedding day itself, Lawless walked down the aisle in a gorgeous strapless gown with a sexy keyhole detail down the front and beautiful lace features running down the sides. Then, for the reception, Lawless slipped into a sexier, more sheer lace and tulle creation with a corset bodice. Wow!
To keep all the attention on her stunning dresses, the bridesmaids donned simple white outfits for the welcome party and elegant black frocks for the wedding itself, blending in with the groomsmen and keeping all the focus on Lawless.
The approach makes a lot of sense when you think about current wedding trends: separates and jumpsuits are both in at the moment, and this way, Lawless didn’t have to choose – she could have her wedding cake and eat it, too!
While I’m sure most brides wish they didn’t have to choose between the beautiful gowns they try on (and wish they had the budget to scoop up four!) constantly changing in and out of gowns on your wedding day seems like a lot of work. What do you think – would you wear four different dresses if you had the opportunity?
