Autograph Collection Hotels Has Entered India, and It’s Anything But Ordinary

Autograph Collection Hotels Has Entered India, and It’s Anything But Ordinary

There was a time when luxury hotels were defined by sameness.

Predictable marble lobbies, polished service scripts, and a kind of global uniformity that blurred one destination into the next.

But today’s traveler is looking for something else entirely. Something with soul. With story. With a sense of place that lingers long after check-out.

And with its long-awaited debut in India, Autograph Collection Hotels is making a decisive entrance.

The brand arrives with a property that understands exactly what it is, and who it’s for.

The Arrival of “Exactly Like Nothing Else”

Set along the storied Grand Trunk Road in Karnal, roughly 75 miles north of New Delhi, the newly unveiled Noormahal, Delhi NCR Karnal, Autograph Collection doesn’t just introduce a brand. It introduces a philosophy.

Autograph Collection Hotels, part of Marriott International’s global portfolio, has long been defined by its ethos: Exactly Like Nothing Else. Each property is handpicked, shaped by a distinct vision, and rooted in narrative rather than replication.

“Noormahal embodies all of that,” Marriott International shared, describing a space where “India’s regal heritage meets contemporary artistry, creating rich immersive moments for the modern design-conscious traveler.”

It’s a palace that knows its power.

A 176-room palatial property, the hotel blends heritage, scale, and immersive design with a clarity of vision that feels intentional. This is not a place that borrows from history. It builds on it.

It's architecture that marries art and heritage. Domes, intricate jali work, and ornamental arches that feel grand without feeling excessive.

It’s regal, but controlled.

Interiors Meant For Royalty

Step inside, and the narrative continues.

Interiors echo the richness with layered textures, artisanal finishes and expansive spatial design balancing tradition with modernity.

The hotel houses an extensive collection of art and artifacts, drawing from Mughal, Rajput, Punjabi, and Persian influences. Every corner holds something. But nothing feels crowded.

It doesn’t feel decorative. It feels curated.

Rooms That Feel Personal

The 176 rooms and suites are designed as private escapes. Spaces that feel considered rather than formulaic.

Rich textiles, cultural designs, and curated decor create a kind of quiet luxury that doesn’t need to announce itself.

At the top end, the Raja Niwas and Khwabgah penthouses take things further. Expansive layouts, private terraces, and butler service reframe royal living for a modern guest.

It’s indulgent, but still grounded.

Built for Scale, Designed for Moments

With over 300,000 square feet of event space, Noormahal is not subtle about its capacity.

From expansive lawns like Rani ka Bagh and Raja ka Bagh to intricately designed venues like Sheesh Mahal and Darbar Hall, the property is built for weddings and large-scale celebrations that require both presence and precision.

It’s the kind of setting where events don’t just happen. They land.

An Experience That Extends Beyond the Stay

What defines an Autograph Collection hotel has never just been the design. It’s the story.

At Noormahal, that story plays out through its signature Autograph Moment, a portrait experience inspired by royal courts.

Guests are styled, framed, and photographed in a way that echoes vintage regal portraiture.

The result is not just a photo. It’s a keepsake. Personal, considered, and very on-brand.

The culinary direction follows the same philosophy: distinct, but cohesive.

From the bold, slow-cooked depth of The Frontier Mail to the all-day ease of Colonel Saab, each venue brings its own perspective. The Polo Bar is classic. The Cake Factory softens the edges.

Autograph Collection’s arrival in India could have been anything, but instead, it chose clarity.

A property with a strong sense of place. A design language that feels considered. And an experience that knows exactly what it’s offering.
