What better way to celebrate the pending arrival of your daughter than with a whimsical Parisian inspired baby shower.
Styled, designed and planned by Elise from Melbourne-based Lopre Events, the baby shower was executed perfectly for former The Bachelor Australia contestant Emily Ghougassian (nee Simms).
Unfortunately, Emily was unable to attend after developing a serious pregnancy related condition, however her loving husband Pierre stepped in to host the event in her absence. Since then, the beautiful couple have welcomed their first child. You can read more about that here.
We spoke to Elise from Lopre Events about the styling and concept behind Emily’s baby shower, which was based on the Miss Dior Cherie commercial from 2009.
“We wanted a concept that was fun but also that represented Emily, who is elegant and feminine. She also loves the French culture, food, fashion and architecture so it was the perfect match,” Elise told Wedded Wonderland.
Held at the Gardens House by The Atlantic Group in Melbourne’s Botanical Gardens, the space was the perfect setting for the French-inspired installations set-up inside by Lopre Events.
“This characteristic heritage building was the ideal space for us to execute our French concept as it offered elegant details within the house and access to private gardens that were perfectly manicured.”
Elise of course went for pink decorations and styling as Emily was expecting a daughter, and added purple to soften the overall design and incorporate a more mature look.
The baby shower also featured personalised touches, from custom illustrations to candles favours and ribbons.
“We were very fortunate to have Sarah Darby create custom illustrations for this event. We printed these amazing illustrations on three-metre high banners which had such an impact upon entry,” Elise said.
One of our favourite custom features were the book stacks which had a different font on each to replicated a French Fashion designer, including Yves Saint Laurent, Hermes and more.
