THESE ARE THE TWO AUSSIE CITIES FIGHTING TO BE HOME OF THE NEXT DISNEYLAND!

Australia has never seen a battle of the states like this! Two Aussie cities are rumoured to be fighting for the right to be the home of Disneyland Australia and we can’t wait to see who will win.

In one corner we have the Victorian suburb of Docklands. Reputable 3AW journalist Rita Panahi suggested earlier in the year that Docklands would be the perfect spot for the theme park. The Tourism and Transport Forum Australia chief executive, Margy Osmond went on to agree saying “They are significant drawcards to visit a city or a region and are usually located high up on the ‘must-do’ list of domestic and international visitors.” Even the Docklands Community Association president Roger Gardner thought bringing Disneyland to Docklands was ‘a reasonable idea.’ Ever since then, a clear block of land at Docklands has remained open – potentially waiting for a bit of Walt Disney magic!

It was all looking peachy for our Victorian friends, until the Queenslanders stepped in with a bid to add Disneyland to their own portfolio of theme-parks!

Reports have been released showing that the owner of the Wanda Group (who is also China’s richest man) is currently in negotiations with the Queensland Government to open a multi-million dollar theme-park in Coomera, not too far from the Gold Coast.

The rumourmill went into overdrive that this new theme-park would be based on the Disney franchise and when asked to confirm or deny whether it would be a Disneyland, the Wanda Group’s representative remained seriously tight-lipped, giving us further indication that Coomera may soon be the ‘happiest place on earth’.
