This Couple Tie The Knot After Being Together For 13 Years

Richard and Sharmagh’s love story is something out of a movie. The two met in high school, Richard being the new kid at school and Sharmagh invited him to her sweet 16th birthday party. Not knowing anyone at the party, he showed up and at the time they didn’t realise that this was going to be the start of something exciting and life changing. Who would have thought from this 16th party this couple would be getting married?

Celebrating their 10 year anniversary, Richard decided to propose during a trip to Portland Sharmagh planned for him. Since Richard knew Sharmagh loved waterfalls, the couple planned to hike the scenic trail and reach the top of the tallest waterfall in Oregon, Multnomah Falls. Sharmagh’s sister and brother in law also joined the couple during their trip and captured the moment Richard went down on one knee to ask Sharmagh to marry him.

“The world fell silent and all I could see was him. He asked me to marry him and no words were coming out of my mouth. I remember smelling the freshness and feeling the breeze of the falls and not being able to speak, I was just nodding my head yes,” explained Sharmagh.

The couple’s wedding theme was simple, elegant and timeless. This theme was put together with a neutral colour scheme, gold details and blush, delicate floral arrangements creating a warm and soft ambiance.

Richard and Sharmagh also incorporated some personal and sentimental details throughout their special day. Sharmagh wore a sapphire ring gifted by her father on her wedding day for the ceremony, symbolising her birthstone and also served as her touch of something blue.

The couple agree that their favourite moment from their wedding day was their first dance as husband and wife. “After all the planning and anticipation leading up to this moment and a room filled with 400 guests, all we saw was each other,” a moment the two will never forget.

Congratulations to Sharmage and Richard!
