Now, here are the top 9 things you need to consider in your cosmetic Wedding prep.
Dr. Josh from Contour Clinics suggests that to ensure you look your best on your big day, you should take every step possible to improve the appearance of your skin, and overall facial structure. Here are some areas that may require attention and recommended treatments to consider before the wedding.
Pigmentation is a big issue most people struggle with, especially those living in Australia. You’ll want to start with a good cosmeceutical skincare range first. This should include a pigment-inhibiting cream to stop worsening pigmentation from coming out. You’ll also want to couple that with a good SPF to reduce the harmful UV rays.
Next is correcting any pre-existing pigmentation. For those with lighter skin types, you can do an IPL (intense pulsed light), which will clear pigmentation. You’ll typically need three sessions, spaced a month apart. For those with darker skin, you may need a chemical peel or laser.
A lot of brides don’t know that redness can be removed with IPL – this is an effective treatment.
Overall skin conditions like enlarged pores, scarring, fine lines, and wrinkles can all be treated with our skin resurfacing lasers. This typically requires up to five sessions, spaced a month apart to turn your skin back ten years.
Then you’ll move on to things like fillers. Now no one wants to look fake on their wedding day, so you want to have just a subtle improvement. And really for fillers, you need a comprehensive consultation with 3D photography to really get to the bottom of exactly what you may benefit from. We can treat everything from adding volume to lips, adding projection to a chin, and enhancing/sculpting a jawline.
Dr. Josh Wall says “I would recommend getting your last filler done probably 2 to 3 months before the day, depending on what you’re getting. Complications are very rare, especially in our hands, but they can happen and you just can’t afford a complication before your big day. So you want to do everything in your power to stop it from happening, and leave plenty of room”.
Similarly, anti-wrinkle treatments are a mainstay for looking your best on your wedding day. Dr. Josh Wall explains, “What I would suggest with anti-wrinkle is that there are some very rare complications. Now it’s your big day, you cannot afford to have a complication. So I would suggest you come in six weeks before your wedding, 6 to 8 weeks, because in 6 to 8 weeks, if you were unlucky enough to experience a complication, it will go by then, but your result will still persist”.
So it’s good to kind of come in and make sure you’re not going to have any issues.
Dr. Josh Wall tells us “I really am a big fan of LED lights. I think they work beautifully. They make your skin pop and you can have those three times a week for a few weeks leading up to your wedding”.
The suggestion from Dr. Josh Wall for China Doll Treatment is “I would do this treatment a few days before the wedding – this is a very, very gentle laser you can hardly feel. It’s like a red carpet facial which can make your skin look amazing for the day”.
