As you all know, we are so excited about Jeff Leatham coming to Australia and to celebrate next week’s arrival, we’ve trawled every book, quote and interview to find out 3 Jeff Leatham secrets you haven’t heard before.

1. He has 3 favourite types of flowers

Jeff refers to his favourite florals as ‘big statement flowers’ – orchids, calla lilies and roses. He loves these types of blossoms because they ‘are more simple and they last longer’.

2. He doesn’t mind a bit of shock-value

Jeff chooses his flowers based on the colour of the room he is working to style and he thinks it’s great to use clashing hues. “With a blue room, how fantastic is it to have a big bouquet of yellow flowers?” he says. “When people walk in they immediately see Andy Warhol-ish pop colors.” (quote from Wall Street Journal)

3. He has a magic number when it comes to arrangements

Jeff is quite particular when it comes to arranging flowers in a vase and believes you should have at least 15 stems. If you’re working with a small space (like a bedside table), Jeff recommends opting for only one or three stems, as these numbers work the best aesthetically.
