The last few days have been a whirlwind – Lola ingested a whole bag of trail mix on Thursday and has been in the ICU ever since. We thought we could take her home today but she threw up a few more times this morning, so she has to stay there at least one more night. It’s been emotional to say the least, since it reminds us a little too much of how we lost Stella just under a year ago. As @meb_pgh and I hosted a Yoga Sutra workshop today, it was so helpful to remember and try to practice Sutra 2.16 – “Pain that has not yet come is avoidable.” While our minds so easily go to that dark place based on our experience with Stella, I keep repeating this sutra over and over in my head, remembering that Lola is still here and not to think the worst. To direct our energy and thoughts on hope and a positive outcome, and not on worrying. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. But it’s the consistent effort and practice that I know will get us through. 💛 #reallifeyoga
