American woman, Carla Squitieri thought she’d lost her $400,000 Wedding ring forever when she noticed it missing from her finger.
The huge 12.5 carat diamond was left on a piece of paper towel on the kitchen counter, but when Carla went back to put the rings back on her finger, the towel and the rings were gone.
It turns out her husband heard a garbage truck pull up and quickly threw the towel in the bin before racing out to dump the last load of trash.
When the pair realised what had happened they called the sanitation workers to ask whether they could dig around the truckload of garbage (10 tonnes worth!). After almost half an hour, the ring was found, making the smelly rubbish rumbling all worth it!
