THEIA FALL 2015 #NYBM

For any bride-to-be who is currently indulging in a winter fantasy, Theia’s Fall 2015 Collection is a must see! The collection showcased at New York Bridal Market and featured bridal gowns which are perfect for the winter bride, with luxurious coats, furs and ball gown skirts.

New York based creative director of Theia, Don O’Neil has infused his Irish roots with signature goddess style to truly capture the essence of the beautiful Mongolian Tundra in this collection.

Don channelled his creativity and passion to epitomise a winter wonderland where snowy white chiffon skirts and snowflake inspired patterns symbolised the Altai Mountains in Mongolia. Water colours of blue and purple fil coupe jacquards mimicked the flow of the icy rivers and the sequins and glistening embellishments embodied sun-radiating glaciers and icicles.

The gowns were a collective incorporation of global elements where the ‘Erin’ dress, knitted by nomads in Mongolia, was inspired by an “Irish fisherman’s sweater” and the gleaming cashmere was sourced from Mongolia’s finest cashmere provider, Nadaam, showing that inspiration was both symbolic and physical.

Crop tops were used to play up a contemporary feel while luxurious Venice lace and hand-women ribbons gave the gowns a classic and romantic style.
