Michael and Rebecca have known each other since they were children, as Michael and Rebecca’s parents were close friends from many years ago, and Rebecca’s mum was even Bridesmaid at Michael’s parents wedding back in 1977. However, overtime the parents drifted apart so Michael and Rebecca had not seen each other for almost 15 years …that is until one special Saturday night at The Ivy, where they reconnected and began chatting and flirting and shared their first kiss that very night.
That kiss would then see them begin to date and to the delight of their parents, watch as their children not only fall deeply in love with each other , but also reunited them with the people who were once close friends.
Michael’s romantic proposal took place early last year where he left a box full of gifts on Rebecca;s doorstep with a letter declaring his love for her and detailing every special moment of their relationship thus far and how if all goes to plan, that night he would become the happiest man on the planet. The box contained everything he knew she would love, from an Alex Perry dress to Christian Louboutin heels and all the Christian Dior essentials she would need to get ready, as a Bentley awaited to chauffeur her to the Park Hyatt Hotel.
Rebecca then made her way to the hotel room, as advised by Michael in the letter. Michael would then propose on the balcony of their room overlooking the Opera House with candles and flowers scattered across the room and balcony.
Almost 5 years after they shared their first kiss, time would see them celebrate their super glamorous wedding with family and friends at the very same location, ‘The Ivy’.
