The 9th Annual DWP Congress successfully concluded last week in Doha, and it redefined the rules for the USD 350 billion luxury wedding industry. This year’s Congress which was held in partnership with Visit Qatar, and Qatar Airways along with Regional and International Partners focused on establishing new trends, the importance of collaborations within the industry, how to elevate the overall experience, and much more in an attempt to take this industry one step ahead and prepare for the year 2023-24 while truly putting this buzzing country which is at the center of the world, now to the center of the destination wedding industry.
With 500+ destination wedding personnel under one roof, including top planners, and global suppliers including 5-star Hotels & Resorts, Venues, Tourism and Convention Bureau, Luxury Concierge Companies, Creative & Visual Artists, Media, Light, Sound and Production Architects, Haute Couture & Jewelry, Cake & Floral Designers, Furniture & Luxury Linen and other organizations who push the boundaries of industry excellence, the event is considered as one of the biggest B2B events in the world.
The DWP 2023 theme revolved around ‘Opulent Extravaganza,’ leveraging the ever-growing demand to meet the needs of luxury clients to create more personalized and niche experiences for their celebrations. The fabulous line-up of speakers from some of the best in business leaders from East to the West shared pearls of wisdom during the Conference Sessions.
The one-to-one networking sessions created a win-win situation for everyone as it facilitated cross-country partnerships, which is the unique USP of the event. The three-day event witnessed around 5,000 meetings between international destination wedding planners and global suppliers from around the world.
In order to quench the thirst for providing more tailored solutions to modern problems, the DWP Masterclasses offered 6 different topics providing niche solutions that further enhanced the attendee’s experience.
The DWP Powerlist was one of the most-awaited moments during the Congress. This prestigious list of 100+ top Wedding Planners & Designers, carefully crafted based on industry experts’ recommendations, felicitated achievements and celebrated creativity of some of the most sought-after connoisseurs from the industry who constantly set the bar higher and establish trends consistently. The book was inaugurated by His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, Group CEO of Qatar Airways who honored them during the sparkling Gala Night.
