Time stood still on the Peruvian cornfields on the 31st of August, where Michelle and Alex wed in one of the most majestic celebrations we’ve ever seen. In this wedding designed by Arturo De Noriega, one of the leading event producers and wedding planners in South America, the couple would have a piece of the galaxy gleaming above them as they took their first dance.
Over a year prior to the wedding, Arturo met with the couple, and the team sought out the best possible venue for the event. Arturo eventually had the idea to hold the wedding in a field in the mountains, so that the whole setup would be dazzling when viewed from above. He was inspired by the idea of a spaceship landing in the middle of a cornfield, the bright galactic aesthetic contrasting with the vastlands of a pale green field.
In a stunning feat, Arturo and team went ahead and cleared out a spot by the foot of a river and in between mountains, in an area not too far from Lima. There, they tilled and fertilized the soil, and a cornfield was born. Numerous construction workers hit the ground running, erecting a bespoke venue with a massive dome and a pyramidal entrance arch. The whole process took two months.
“From the beginning, we looked for a special place to celebrate this event, and we found a space that we turned into a cornfield. Here a spaceship landed, which we shaped over time, with engineers and architects,” he wrote on Instagram in Spanish.
“The Moon in the mountains and geometric star, was the detail that gave the final touch to this great event. The final result was amazing, and this was thanks to a great team, and the total trust of the clients who let themselves be guided by our suggestions.”
The altar too had a thoughtful creative process behind it. Vegetables and flowers were used to form mandalas. Continuing the theme of sacred geometry, Arturo’s team placed a star in the middle of the dance floor, with the shape being a symbol for divine protection and guidance. The reflective flooring was also bathed in otherworldly projections that gave off a planetary feel.
Stars sparkled overhead and all around in a glimmering display of majesty. The designers installed a hypnotic screen on the ceiling, from which nebulas and celestial patterns glittered. Behind the wedding singer shone a full moon, and immersive projections were cast onto the mountain.
Rich foliage adorned the tablescapes, buffet station, and entrance arch, while candelabras and candles of mixed height warmed the room.
As the night went on, the venue was dimmed, lit solely by candlelight. Lasers emanated from the faux spaceship, setting the scene aglow. Then, to end the festivities, fireworks were set off into the night sky.
It was truly one of the most spellbinding weddings in the whole universe!
