Quiet luxury may come and go, but old money romance? That never really left.
From sweeping gardens and stately mansions to heirloom-inspired fashion, couples are increasingly gravitating toward wedding venues with history, character, and a sense of permanence. The appeal isn't about extravagance for extravagance's sake. It's about celebrating in places that already have a story to tell.

Paige Lorenze and tennis star Tommy Paul's wedding embodied exactly that. Held at one of Long Island's most iconic estates, their celebration felt less like a celebrity wedding and more like stepping into the pages of a classic novel. With timeless fashion, an unforgettable setting, and a wedding weekend full of thoughtful details, the couple offered a masterclass in modern old money elegance.

Paige Lorenze and Tommy Paul exchanged vows at Old Westbury Gardens in Nassau County, New York, one of the most storied estates on Long Island's famed Gold Coast.

The property, once home to businessman and philanthropist John Shaffer Phipps, is celebrated for its manicured gardens, grand architecture, and European-inspired landscapes. Its cinematic beauty even helped inspire Daisy Buchanan's lavish home in Baz Luhrmann's 2013 adaptation of The Great Gatsby, making it one of America's most recognizable historic estates.

For Lorenze, choosing the venue felt deeply personal. She and Paul always envisioned marrying in the United States, specifically in the state where they first met. Once she visited Old Westbury Gardens, every other wedding decision naturally followed, from the floral palette to the tablescapes and overall aesthetic.

The result was a celebration that felt both intimate and impossibly grand.

There's a reason historic estates keep appearing on luxury wedding inspiration boards.
Unlike purpose-built event venues, heritage properties already possess a distinct identity. The architecture, gardens, antique interiors, and generations of history create an atmosphere that feels impossible to replicate.
Today's couples are increasingly drawn to venues that don't need elaborate transformations. Instead of building a wedding aesthetic from scratch, they're choosing locations where the backdrop does much of the storytelling.
Old money style also embraces longevity over trends. Neutral palettes, formal gardens, classic tailoring, candlelit receptions, and timeless floral arrangements have become hallmarks of weddings that feel elegant today and will likely remain so decades from now.
Paige and Tommy's celebration reflected exactly that philosophy. Rather than chasing fleeting trends, they leaned into enduring romance, allowing the estate's character to shape the entire experience.
For the ceremony, Lorenze wore a custom strapless Carolina Herrera gown designed under Wes Gordon's creative direction.

The gown embodied everything the fashion house is known for: refined structure, understated femininity, and effortless sophistication. Its clean silhouette complemented the grandeur of Old Westbury Gardens without competing with it, allowing the historic setting and the bride to shine equally.
The celebrations didn't end with one dress.
For the cake cutting, Lorenze changed into another custom Carolina Herrera design featuring a dramatic open back and an oversized bow, offering a playful yet polished second bridal look. Later, she embraced party mode in a custom Wiederhoeft mini dress for the after-party, where guests celebrated with espresso martinis, Jell-O shots, and dancing late into the evening.

Lorenze and Paul first connected in 2022 after being introduced through social media. Three years later, Paul proposed with an emerald-cut diamond ring during a beachside engagement, setting the stage for a wedding that balanced sentiment with style.
Their guest list reflected that same philosophy.
Rather than hosting an endless celebrity affair, the couple surrounded themselves with close friends and family, including fellow tennis stars Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, who served as groomsmen, alongside Olivia Jade, Ayan Broomfield, Remi Bader, and Connor Wood.
It was proof that even the grandest estates can still feel deeply personal when filled with the people who matter most.
