Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup have done it again!
After quietly tying the knot in New York on June 9, 2023, the star couple threw a lavish destination wedding in Mexico City. Talk about celebrating their first anniversary in style!
The wedding, which was photographed by the Home And Away-alumni actress’s brother, was a true Hollywood affair – the complete opposite to their low-key courthouse wedding. The guest list featured Nicole Kidman, a longtime friend of Watts, as well as fellow Aussie stars, Deborah-Lee Furness and Isla Fisher.
This time around, Watts and Crudup embraced the glitz and glamour, pulling out all the stops for their friends and family. While not much has been revealed about the private ceremony, Instagram gave us an insight into the couple’s reception.
Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup have been linked since 2017, but made their red carpet debut in 2022, shortly before sparking engagement rumous in April, 2023.
Watts opted for a lace Oscar De La Renta gown for their courthouse wedding in 2023. So it’s fitting that she mixed it up for their second wedding, wearing a simple gown with a slight cowl neck, that exuded a laidback boho vibe. While her husband, Crudup opted for a classic black tuxedo for the day.
We can’t help but wonder if this could be the beginning of second, more luxe weddings. With the rise of elopements, micro weddings and budget-conscious brides, the idea of a more extravagant wedding a year or two down the line could be an interesting concept.
