How Nadech Kugimiya and Yaya Sperbund Honored Their Heritage Through Three Weddings

Thai stars Nadech Kugimiya and Yaya Sperbund celebrated their marriage with three distinct weddings, honoring their Thai, Norwegian, and family roots through meaningful cultural traditions.

One wedding is memorable. Two feels extravagant. Three?

For Nadech Kugimiya and Yaya Sperbund, it simply made perfect sense.

The beloved Thai stars have officially tied the knot for a third time, completing a wedding journey that has captivated fans across Asia and beyond. But this wasn't about hosting multiple lavish celebrations for the sake of spectacle. Each ceremony carried its own purpose, reflecting the cultures, family histories, and traditions that shaped the couple long before they became one of Thailand's most adored celebrity pairs.

As destination weddings continue to evolve, more couples are discovering that marriage doesn't have to fit into a single day or a single location. Sometimes, celebrating across different places and traditions allows every part of your story to be seen.

Nadech and Yaya's wedding trilogy is a beautiful reminder that love can be celebrated more than once, especially when every celebration honors a different piece of who you are.

A Third Wedding to Complete Their Journey

Nadech Kugimiya and Urassaya "Yaya" Sperbund officially celebrated their third wedding ceremony in July, marking the final chapter of a remarkable wedding season.

Photos shared by Nadech's family captured an intimate celebration surrounded by loved ones, including one especially meaningful guest. His adoptive father, Yoshio Kugimiya, who has been bedridden for some time, was able to attend the ceremony, making the occasion even more emotional for the family.

Among the guests was BLACKPINK's Lisa, adding another familiar face to a celebration already filled with joy and heartfelt moments.

Why Three Weddings Meant More Than One

At first glance, three weddings might sound excessive.

In reality, each ceremony reflected a different part of the couple's identity.

Their first wedding took place in Khon Kaen, Nadech's hometown in Thailand, where they embraced traditional Isan customs and celebrated the culture that shaped his upbringing. Wearing beautifully crafted local textiles, the ceremony highlighted Thai heritage through meaningful rituals that connected generations of family.

Their second celebration unfolded in Oslo, Norway, a place deeply connected to Yaya's family through her Norwegian father. Surrounded by close friends and relatives, the couple exchanged vows again in an intimate European ceremony that honored another important part of their story.

The third wedding brought everyone together once more, creating a final celebration where both families could gather and share in the joy of the newlyweds.

Rather than repeating the same wedding three times, they created three distinct celebrations, each rooted in a different culture, place, and family connection.

Three Bridal Looks, Three Different Chapters

Each wedding also introduced a new bridal fashion moment.

For the traditional Thai ceremony, Yaya wore elegant local textiles that celebrated Thai craftsmanship while paying tribute to Isan heritage. The intricate fabrics reflected generations of artistry, proving that cultural dress remains one of the most meaningful forms of bridal fashion.

In Norway, she shifted effortlessly into contemporary bridal elegance with a custom Louis Vuitton lace gown designed under the creative direction of Nicolas Ghesquière. The delicate detailing and impeccable craftsmanship offered a softer, more classic interpretation of bridal style while still feeling unmistakably luxurious.

For their third and final celebration, Yaya stepped into a breathtaking Georges Hobeika wedding gown that perfectly captured the romance of the occasion. Known for the Lebanese designer's ethereal silhouettes and couture craftsmanship, the gown brought a sense of grandeur to the finale of the couple's wedding journey while complementing the intimate, heartfelt atmosphere of the celebration.

A Love Story Fans Have Grown Up With

Few celebrity relationships have unfolded as publicly, and as genuinely, as Nadech and Yaya's.

The pair first met while working together and officially began dating in 2011. Over the years, they became one of Thailand's most beloved on-screen and off-screen couples through projects including Game Rai Game Rak, Duang Jai Akkanee, Leh Lub Salub Rarng, and Nakee 2.

In 2023, Nadech proposed during a romantic trip to Sorrento, Italy, beginning the next chapter of a relationship that fans had long hoped would end in marriage.

More than a decade later, that hope has finally become reality.

Weddings That Honor Every Part of Your Story

Nadech and Yaya's celebrations reflect a growing shift in the way couples think about weddings.

For multicultural couples, families spread across different countries, or those balancing multiple traditions, one ceremony isn't always enough to capture everything that matters.

Instead of asking which culture should take priority, many are choosing to celebrate each one fully, whether through separate ceremonies, destination weddings, or intimate family gatherings held across different parts of the world.

Their wedding journey reminds us that traditions don't have to compete.

They can coexist beautifully.
