The consequences of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic are getting to us too, Fairies. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed by it all, be reassured that this is a very normal response. It is more important now, than ever, to go easy on yourself and to take time for self-care. But, how? Do not fear, Wedded Wonderland is here!
Table of Contents
We have put together this list of self-care activities that you can do from home. They’ll help you feel a little better and give you a sense of control during a very uncertain time.
Watch Something Uplifting
Listen to a podcast, or watch a feel-good movie to raise your spirits. In situations like these, distraction can be a good thing. YouTube is also great for this, simply search ‘uplifting videos’ or whatever else you’re after – it’s a whole new world!

Stay Active
Exercise is excellent for both your physical, and your mental health. Whatever your exercise style or pace, there’s something everyone can do to stay active. Do what works best for you, and remember not to push yourself too hard.
Maintain Contact With Family & Friends
Self-isolation means that people are staying as far away from each other as possible. There are many chatting applications you can use (Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber), and many video-calling applications too (FaceTime, HouseParty, Skype). Additionally, you could start a group chat to keep everyone in the loop! Ask those dear to you how they’re feeling and share your own experiences – communication makes a major difference.
Cook A Homemade Meal
Good nutrition is always important, but during stressful times there’s nothing better than a tasty, healthy homemade meal – especially if you made it yourself. Search up the recipe for that pot-roast you’ve always wanted to make, or watch YouTube tutorials for some extra guidance.
Make A Playlist
Hop on Spotify or Apple Music and make yourself a playlist with your favourite songs. You’ll find that there are many pre-existing playlists, created by others online, and they can help you get some inspiration! You could also make a group playlist and ask your friends to add five of their favourite songs as well.
Declutter
Put on some good music, and get busy! Sort through those cupboards that you’ve been meaning to go through for a year or so. Clean out your makeup drawer, and throw out (or donate, when things are better) shoes that you haven’t worn in years! Trust us, it will make you feel more organised, and productive.
Learn A Language
Have you always wanted to learn Spanish, French or even Mandarin? Now is the time to do it! There are many online courses, not to mention great applications such as Duolingo, that can teach you everything you need to know. Vamos, Fairies!
Get Into Reading
The most wonderful thing about books, is that they allow you to escape into a different world. They’re a great means of distraction, enjoyment and knowledge. Order a paperback, or read an eBook – whatever works best for you!
Take A News Break
Between the news and social media, we’re all feeling saturated by Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates right now. It’s important to stay informed, but try to limit your media intake to a couple of times a day and use trusted news sources. It can help with any overwhelming feelings you may be having.
But most of all, stay safe Fairies!
