Hera Couture was established in 2010 by Katie Yeung, drawing upon her background and experience in the fashion industry from a young age. Katie’s mother was skilled in creating custom clothing for individual clients. Katie grew up in an environment filled with sewing machines, fabrics, and patterns. Starting at age eight, she began to learn from her mother and assist in constructing garments for their clients.
Hera Couture unveiled their newest collection called “La Raine” in April 2023. The collection is inspired by the Latin word for “The Queen”, reflecting the brand’s mission to make every bride feel like royalty on her special day. The collection features intricate hand pleating and draping details that hug the figure, perfectly supporting and accentuating curves. The gowns come in various styles, from strapless to off-the-shoulder sleeves, and are made of luxurious fabrics such as Crush Satin, French Crepe, 4D bonded crepe, Royal Organza and Hera’s signature Stretch Mikado. The fabrics create a sense of effortless elegance and fluidity, while still exuding a delicate charm. When asked what Katie’s favourite element of the collection is, she responded with “how our bride have described it to us – wow, this makes me look goooood.” She added that her “secrets [are] all in [their] custom fabrics, comfort inbuilt corsetry and the lines of structure in La Raine”. This collection strikes a perfect balance between strength and softness, elegance and ease, and is a testament to a woman’s power and confidence. It embodies a woman’s strength, grace and nobility, and aims to help each bride feel like the queen they were born to be on their wedding day.
