When your last name is Ferragamo, there’s a certain expectation that your wedding will be unforgettable, and musician Edoardo Ferragamo, grandson of legendary designer Salvatore Ferragamo, did not disappoint.
Together with his bride, brand marketing executive Elizabeth Stankus, the couple hosted a three-day wedding celebration in Portofino, Italy, that blended fashion, family, and rock ‘n’ roll energy in the most spectacular way.
But long before the glittering dresses, candlelit dinners, and custom Ferragamo tuxedos, it all started with a very lucky seating plan.
Their story started far from the Mediterranean coast, in New York City’s bustling SoHo.
The pair first met at a small dinner hosted by a mutual friend, where Edoardo’s charisma made an instant impression on Elizabeth.
What began as an unassuming evening among friends turned into the start of a cross-continental romance that would take them between New York and Italy, intertwining their worlds through creativity, travel, and shared passions.
Several years later, during the holidays in Florence, Edoardo proposed at Ville Le Rose, his family’s historic estate. The setting was impossibly cinematic, think candlelit corridors, soft piano music, and centuries-old frescoes as the backdrop.
The moment was private, timeless, and distinctly Ferragamo: steeped in heritage, but deeply personal.
Choosing Portofino as their wedding destination felt like a natural extension of their story, a meeting point between Italian elegance and cosmopolitan sophistication.
The couple welcomed family and friends to a three-day celebration, weaving together intimate dinners, seaside soirées, and one unforgettable concert in the town square.
The festivities began with family dinners at La Terrazza at Hotel Splendido and Langosteria, followed by a lively rehearsal dinner at Ristorante Puny. What guests didn’t expect was Edoardo transforming the piazza into a live concert stage, performing alongside his bandmates and friends. It was an energetic, joy-filled moment that perfectly captured the couple’s creative spirit.
Naturally, the entire weekend was a fashion spectacle worthy of the Ferragamo name. Elizabeth began the celebrations in a sequined Ferragamo gown from the Spring 2025 collection and continued to stun in custom pieces designed by Ferragamo creative director Maximilian Davis.
One of the standout looks was a reimagined version of the dress she wore on her first date with Edoardo, modernized with Ferragamo’s signature craftsmanship and subtle romantic details. Each outfit told a story: elegance rooted in nostalgia, elevated by couture precision.
Edoardo matched his bride’s style with sleek Ferragamo tailoring, donning off-white linen suits and navy leather loafers for the pre-wedding festivities before stepping into a custom Ferragamo tuxedo on the big day.
The couple exchanged vows at Chiesa del Divo Martino, Portofino’s historic church, surrounded by soft floral arrangements in white, blush, and green. The ceremony was officiated by two close family members, creating a deeply intimate and meaningful moment.
Afterward, guests traveled to La Cervara, a former monastery turned villa overlooking the sea, for aperitivo, dinner, and dancing. A brief rain shower, considered good luck in Italian tradition, only added charm to the celebration, quickly giving way to laughter, champagne toasts, and live music.
Edoardo, ever the musician, surprised his new wife with a special performance later that evening, an original song written just for her. It was a tender, emotional highlight that perfectly captured the energy of the night: classic, romantic, and full of personality.
On the wedding day, Elizabeth wore a breathtaking Oscar de la Renta gown—a laser-cut masterpiece with architectural detailing that reflected her refined yet modern aesthetic. Paired with custom Ferragamo satin platforms and sparkling Jacob & Co. jewelry, the look was timeless Italian glamour with a contemporary twist.
As the evening continued, she changed into two more Ferragamo creations: a minimalist strapless gown with a cummerbund train inspired by fashion icons of the past, and finally, a flowing silk halter dress that moved effortlessly across the dance floor. Each change reflected a different side of her—elegant, playful, and radiant.
After a night of celebration that stretched into the early hours, the newlyweds weren’t quite ready to say goodbye. The next morning, they set sail aboard their yacht, Curiosity, for a “friendsmoon,” a post-wedding cruise with their closest friends along the Italian coast, ending in Saint-Tropez. It was the perfect way to unwind after a whirlwind of emotion, style, and music.
From a candlelit proposal in Florence to an unforgettable weekend in Portofino, Edoardo and Elizabeth Ferragamo’s wedding was a love story stitched together by heritage, artistry, and heart. It balanced old-world Italian romance with modern-day creativity, proof that even in the most luxurious settings, it’s the personal touches that leave the most lasting impression.
