Australian brand, Ellery, launched Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2015 with a string of controversies, making it one of the most memorable in Fashion Week’s 20-year history.
The runway opened with a ballet, choreographed specifically for the brand, but shortly after the models started down the catwalk, a local resident walked into the show to complain that the techno backing music was too loud. He managed to make his way to the end of the glitter-covered catwalk before the Ellery team were able to stop him.
The Ellery show also saw the long-awaited return of model Gemma Ward to the catwalk after a decade long hiatus.
Kym Ellery brought colour to the winter palette, with a range of silvers, pale lemons and pastel blues making an appearance. According to Ellery, the must-haves are:
- Paisley shirts, dresses, pants – everything!
- Flares
- Off-the-shoulder blouses
- Man-style blazers (loose fitting and long)
