Bindi Irwin Has Revealed How She Will Honour Her Dad Steve Irwin On Her Wedding Day

Bindi Irwin is in the midst of planning her wedding with her fiancé Chandler Powell.

And on Wednesday Australia’s wildlife warrior princess explained how she will be honouring her late Crocodile Hunter father Steve on her big day.

According to People, the 21 year old said “I really want to include Dad on the day and make sure that he is with us in some way”. After getting engaged on the groups of Queensland’s Australia Zoo on Bindi’s 21st birthday in July this year, she has been busy planning her special day.

Bindi explained that there will be a candle lighting ceremony, “So we’ll be able to all get up as a little family and light a candle in his honour and share a few words on what an amazing dad he was and still is”.

The couple have been going out for almost six years now and plan to tie the knot next year at Australia Zoo where the Irwin family lives and works.

“Out of everyone in our family, Dad would always get the most emotional out of everyone,” Bindi recalls. “We’re all very emotional people, but Dad, anytime we would achieve anything as kids, he would just start crying. I remember the first time I ever filmed with little ants on camera, I was telling the camera that these little ants are so important to protect and he just started crying”.

“It was really special that he was the one that was so exited about the big moments in our lives and there isn’t a bigger moment that I can think of than getting married to Chandler,” she adds. “It’s going to be a really special day.”

Bindi first met Chandler, a former professional wake boarder in 2013 while giving him a tour of Australia Zoo and now works alongside the Irwin family at the zoo.
