Bali Wedding Cost: The Complete 2026 Guide to What You'll Actually Pay

Bali has firmly cemented itself as one of the world's leading destination wedding locations, but ask ten couples what they think it costs, and you'll get ten wildly different (and mostly wrong) answers. Somewhere between "Bali is so affordable" and "Bali is a hidden six-figure trap" lies the truth.

To cut through the noise, we sat down with Nicky Almeida of Nix Wedding Planner, a leading name in luxury Bali destination weddings, to get a real, itemised breakdown of what couples actually pay, from venue and vendors to the hidden fees nobody warns you about.

If you're planning a Bali wedding in 2026, this is the guide to bookmark. (All figures in USD)

So, What's the Real Number?

For a beautifully executed 100-guest wedding in Bali, Nicky recommends budgeting USD $38,000-$84,000, with luxury celebrations comfortably exceeding $112,000+ depending on venue, production, styling and guest experience.

Here's how that typically breaks down:

Category

% of Total Budget

Venue

15–25%

Catering & Beverages

20–30%

Styling, Florals & Production

20–30%

Photography & Videography

8–12%

Entertainment

5–10%

Hair & Makeup

2–4%

Wedding Planner & Coordination

10–15%

Transport, Legalities & Miscellaneous

5–10%

"The biggest misconception is that Bali is 'cheap,'" Nicky tells us. "Bali offers exceptional value for what couples receive, but today's weddings are world-class productions with international standards and expectations."

Venue Costs: Why the Range Is So Wide

Bali venue pricing can swing from a few thousand dollars to six figures, and the gap comes down to exclusivity, guest capacity, location, and what's actually included.

Cliff-top venues in Uluwatu command premium pricing purely because of their views and demand. Private villas are a different story entirely, some require couples to bring in everything: kitchens, generators, furniture, restrooms, staffing. Purpose-built wedding venues, by contrast, already have this infrastructure in place, which is often reflected in a higher (but more inclusive) price tag.

Before you fall in love with a venue, ask about minimum food and beverage spends, accommodation buyouts, and production requirements, these can shift your total significantly.

The Itemised Vendor Breakdown

For a mid-range Bali wedding with quality suppliers, here's what couples typically pay:

  • Photography: $2,000-$4,900

  • Videography: $1,750-$4,550

  • Content Creator: $550-$1,750

  • Florals & Styling: $5,600-$17,500+

  • Hair & Makeup: $350-$850

  • DJ & MC: $850-$3,500

  • Live Musicians: $350-$2,800

  • Lighting & Sound Production: $2,100-$8,400

  • Fireworks & Special Effects: $1,750+

  • Wedding Planner: 10-15% of total investment, or package-based

The Hidden Costs Nobody Tells You About

This is where most couples get caught out. Nicky's list of the most commonly missed line items:

Vendor meals, generator hire, additional power for afterparties, overtime charges, corkage fees, cleaning fees, security fees, banjar (local community) fees, wet weather contingency marquees, guest transport logistics, accommodation and visas for suppliers flying in internationally, sound restriction production requirements, and government taxes and service charges.

"One of the greatest benefits of working with an experienced Bali wedding planner is that these costs are identified early, allowing couples to budget accurately with no unexpected surprises," Nicky explains.

Legal Fees: What It Actually Costs to Marry in Bali

Many international couples complete their legal paperwork at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Bali, it's usually the simplest route.

For couples who do want to legally marry in Indonesia, costs generally sit between $750–$2,250, depending on nationality, religion, documentation, translators and celebrant requirements. Mixed-nationality couples should expect additional documentation and should have their situation assessed individually.

Does Peak Season Actually Inflate Prices?

Yes, but selectively. According to Nicky, peak season (June–August) drives up venue pricing, not vendor pricing, with premium venues booking out 12–18 months in advance.

Couples willing to marry in shoulder season (November–March) can save 10–20% on venue costs, the trade-off being a slightly higher chance of rain, which makes a solid wet-weather contingency plan essential.

What About Your Guests?

Your budget isn't the only one in play. Guests can expect quality hotels from $70–$160/night, with luxury resorts ranging $265–$840+/night. Transport is worth planning for too, particularly for cliff-top venues where late-night taxis are scarce, most couples arrange dedicated shuttles between accommodation and the venue.

Planning on a Tighter Budget (Under $21,000)?

Nicky's advice: prioritise the guest experience above everything else.

Spend on: a beautiful venue, exceptional food and beverage, professional photography, and an experienced local planner.

Cut from: guest numbers, large floral installations, extensive entertainment line-ups, and decorative extras.

"Reducing the guest list by 20 people will almost always create a greater impact than compromising on quality," she notes.

How Payments Actually Work

Most Bali suppliers require a 30-50% deposit to secure booking, with the balance due 30-60 days before the wedding. Payments are typically in IDR, though many internationally-facing vendors also invoice in AUD or USD. Given currency fluctuation over long planning windows, Nicky recommends building in a contingency allowance, and using a platform like Wise for international payments.

The Bottom Line

The single biggest misconception couples bring to their Bali wedding research? That it's cheap.

It isn't, but it's exceptional value. As Nicky puts it: "Rather than thinking of Bali as 'cheap,' I encourage couples to think of it as a destination where their investment goes significantly further while still delivering an extraordinary celebration."

The best Bali weddings aren't the most expensive ones, they're the ones where the budget is allocated with intention, and every dollar is working toward the guest experience.
