Take a moment and try and envision your dream wedding. What would you like to have? What colours would you choose? How do you want your guests to react the moment they enter your wedding? There is so much to consider but to relieve a little bit of stress, we’ve put together a little guide for you to help you choose your perfect wedding theme.

Here you go Fairies!

Classic & Timeless

Who should do this: When we think of a classic wedding we think of white decor, beautiful floral arrangements, simple styling and nothing over the top! A hopeless romantic couple with refined styling should definitely lean towards a classic and timeless theme.

Suitable Venues: A large ballroom space or reception venue.

Pros and Cons: Classic never dates and your wedding will always be timeless years after you tie the knot! However, something classic rarely challenges the status quo. There might be a very similar wedding to yours out there, but to avoid this, add another colour to break up your palette to keep your wedding fresh and current.

Rustic

Who should do this: If you and your partner want to create a relaxed and laid back vibe to your wedding incorporating the outdoors, then this theme is for you! It is also a great choice for the artistic couples as it gives you the opportunity to add your own DIY touches.

Suitable Venues: Anywhere outdoors with lush sceneries or a venue that brings the outdoors in.

Pros and Cons: This theme can be moulded into your desired setting, however it is suitable for more casual and relaxed celebrations as apposed to formal weddings.

Beach

Who should do this: If the other love of your life is the beach then this is your perfect theme!

Suitable Venues: On your favourite beach or a location that overlooks the waves.

Pros and Cons: Most beach weddings are a casual and relaxed vibe which fits perfectly with the location. Downfall is that you won’t be able to invite too many guests as there is only a small section of the location that can be used for your wedding. If you were considering having a destination wedding by the beach, you have to keep in mind that some guests might not be able to travel overseas or nationally for your wedding day.

Modern Minimalist

Who should do this: A couple with a sophisticated and modern sense of style! This theme fits the brief simplicity is key!

Suitable Venues: A reception venue with wide spaces with simple architecture features and great views to elevate your wedding.

Pros and Cons: Due to your minimalist taste, your decoration costs will be quite little which will allow you to put this money towards other aspects of your wedding. However in saying that, finding a space that will match your aesthetic can be a challenge.

On Trend & Luxe

Who should do this: A couple who are always on top of the latest trends and who love all things luxury!

Suitable Venues: A grand ballroom or reception venue.

Pros and Cons: Your wedding will be like no other as it will feature all the hottest wedding trends. However, it may come with a heavy price tag!

Traditional & Cultural

Who should do this: Anyone who is passionate about their cultural heritage or a couple who come from two different cultures because who doesn’t love a cross-cultural wedding!

Suitable Venues: Your ceremony can be held in a traditional church or chapel and your reception space can be somewhere that will host your favourite cultural bands and entertainment.

Pros and Cons: Your wedding can be a celebration of your cultural pride of both you and your partner’s roots. However, your wedding guests who are not familiar with your traditions or culture might not know what’s happening but it a good opportunity for everyone to experience something different and unique.

No matter what you choose, stay true to yourself and your partner as this will create an unforgettable wedding for all!
