Our very own Fairy Godmother Wendy El-Khoury’s most glamorous wedding.
It’s that time of year when temperature drops, the leaves turn golden and the rain begins to fall and all the fairies either retreat indoors to enjoy the change in season, or brave the change outdoors. What better way to celebrate this change, than with a trip down memory lane?
To a beautiful Sunday in autumn a few years back (May 2011 to be exact!) when the founder and director of Wedded Wonderland, our very own Queen bee, had her dream autumn wedding.
Wendy and Nick’s wedding was truly aspirational, and every step of the way her late friend and Wedding planner, Anthony Del Col was there to help bring Wendy’s vision to life!
Wendy wore a soft beaded lace Steven Khalil couture dress, with gorgeous sheer full-length sleeves and a high neck. The dress fitted perfectly to her body with a stunning mermaid skirt, and long veil accented with pearls. It’s classic cut radiated with sophistication, elegance and a touch of drama. She carried a posy of baby breath complimenting the lace of her dress. Her bridesmaids wore a selection of hand picked vintage dresses, feather and fur stoles, and lace coats.
Their day began with a beautiful and sacred church ceremony at St George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral. The Church was subtly styled with rich red posies, which played wonderfully with the theme of their wedding.
The magic continued at their glamorous reception, styled to opulent perfection with all black and gold detailing on tables and rich bouquets of a mix of deep red flowers. A row of low hanging chandeliers and tall gold baroque backgrounds added to the overall decadence of the wedding.
Wendy chose to switch out her veil for a super sparkling, fashion-forward choker for the wedding reception, further accentuating her dream gown and hairstyle.
