Jessica and Dean had a chic, modern wedding with a dreamy white palette that started off with a bang…literally.
It is often said that certain events on your wedding day are true signs of happy tidings. Rain on your wedding day, a spider in your dress, something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, a sixpence in your shoe – the list is endless when it comes to wedding day superstitions. But for this couple it was an uncle driving his most beloved Mustang into a tap, causing a 10-meter water fountain that was surely a sign of good luck.
And if that wasn’t enough of a bang, the two arrived in style landing a helicopter at the entrance of their reception shocking all their guests. “Everyone was blown away and it was such a fun way to start the night”, explains bride Jessica. The wedding reception was held at Ravensthorpe, a grand 19th century home reminiscent of a small French chateau and what Jessica describes as a “hidden gem!”
“We’d describe our wedding as relaxed elegance. With European backgrounds, our wedding was considered ‘small’, but it allowed us to have a more intimate night with our close family and friends, which is exactly what we wanted”.
Keeping the styling at a minimum and allowing the beauty of the heritage home shine through, they danced the night away in an outdoor courtyard, covered in fairy-lights under a sky enveloped with stars. “We kept the colour scheme simple and classic mainly using whites and different shades of greenery”.
The real star, of course, was the bride who stunned in an Alon Livne gown paired with a beautiful cape and striking headpiece, the perfect look for a modern bride. “I fell in love with it straight away. I just knew I had to add my own personal touch, so I added a beautiful cape to make it my absolute dream gown”.
“To be honest, the thing that most surprised us on the day was just how much love and happiness we felt by all our family and friends! It’s an overwhelming feeling that you can’t explain or prepare for”, Jessica described when asked what surprised her most. “Seeing so many beaming smiles throughout the day and so much excitement for us is something that you will only feel and see on your wedding day. It really is what makes the day so memorable, not the flowers, cars or even the dress!”
“We shared beautiful memories like a really special mother/son and father/daughter dance to a song my dad wrote me as a little girl, laughs and tears throughout the speeches and a sparkler-filled send-off that we’ll never forget”.
