As 2015 wraps up, we’ve seen some of the biggest wedding trends ever; from Beyoncé and Kim’s naked dress to the insurgence of the flower-everything (flower walls, flower chandeliers, flower ceilings). With 2016 on our doorstep, we just had to give you insight into the styles, silhouettes and fabrics you’ll be wearing if you’re planning to get hitched next year.

We partnered with Madina from luxury Leichardt-based bridal boutique, The Sposa Group to give us the 411 on all the gowns that are going to be huge next year.
1. Ball Gowns
Sleek silhouettes are timeless, but 2016 will be the year of the princess skirt; the bigger, the better. From lashings of tulle to structured frills, this trend is one for the Bride who’s not afraid of making an entrance.
2. Removable Train
The ball gown brings us to the next trend – removable trains. This allows the Bride to have the best of both worlds. She can arrive at the ceremony in a full-skirt, before removing the top layer at the reception to reveal a sleek, mermaid-cut gown.
3. Statement Backs
Low back with draping, embellishments or tulle give a sensual look to an otherwise traditional gown. Pair the statement back with a mermaid or ball gown.
4. Shoulder Action
From padded shoulders complete with texture-thick embellishments to the most delicate lace sleeves, 2016 will be the year of the shoulder.
5. Texture and Beading
After the ‘naked gown’ trend of 2015, next year will see an insurgence of thick, complex beading and embellishments. Texture is king and the more, the better.
6. Crops and Two-Pieces
Two-pieces are the perfect pairing for 2016, especially if you’re after a romantic, bohemian look.
