What better Christmas present than waking up in an igloo, gazing up at the aurora borealis, with your partner “on one knee and a ring as shiny as the glistening snow”.
This beautiful proposal took Erika by surprise as Paul proposed while on a trip to Finland.
Having travelled to over 35 places, the couple decided that the location for their wedding would be South Africa as it “was the best experience they have ever had”.
Their intimate destination wedding of 60 of their closest friends and family, took place in Cape Town in the Cape winelands, at MolenVliet winery.
The rehearsal dinner included the South African tradition of braai, a very casual BBQ, which was also held at the wedding venue.
With an “elegant white and blush arch with garden roses and orchids nestled amongst the lush green landscape of the vineyard” the wedding was everything the happy couple could have asked for.
The most memorable moments were when Paul cried as he saw Erika walking down the aisle and the touching Father of the Bride speech that was so moving “that it made many fathers at the wedding cry”.
