Dad Jokes and Dr. Seuss Quotes In The Botanical Gardens

Verity first met Alex on his birthday seven years ago and Alex made the start of their wedding journey all the more sentimental by later proposing to her on his birthday.

We’d call a fiancé one of the best birthday presents ever.

Reflecting on the day, Verity said, “It’s funny that a lot of our key milestones have fallen around Alex’s birthday.”

“I had planned a picnic at Montalto and had organised the whole day so was it was a lovely, beautiful surprise that he asked when I really wasn’t expecting it.”

With their own personal touches added to the day, Verity and Alex made sure every detail “really [felt] like ‘us.'”

“A day spent celebrating your love with your nearest and dearest is really the best thing in the world. We wrote our own vows so hearing those were pretty special.”

The entertainment at this wedding came in a different form. Forget fireworks and flying acrobats – these guys were all about dad jokes, as well as a sweet gesture from Verity’s 7-year-old nephew.

“We are big kids at heart and love a dad joke, much to our friends’ dismay! The venue was sprinkled with subtle dad jokes or puns – from the seating chart to the menus. We wanted our guests to have a laugh in unexpected places.

“My 7-year-old nephew also stood up and recited Dr Seuss’s ‘We’re All A Little Weird’ quote, which was so sweet and so appropriate for Alex and I!”

Verity and Alex were glad they took the advice of every other married couple and treated themselves to a couple’s wind down.

“We took those 10 minutes to escape the crowd later in the evening and soak it all up and it was so nice to stop for a moment and have a catch up!”

We’re wishing the couple a fabulous marriage with never-ending dad jokes!
