Brie Larson shines in Monique Lhuillier gown

Brie Larson was the epitome of elegance at Wednesday’s Manhattan premiere of her new film The Glass Castle.

The Oscar winner donned a floaty chiffon gown from designer Monique Lhuillier’s SS/18 runway to grace the red carpet. While the designer’s previous collection emphasised the female form and was undoubtedly seductive, this new lineup exemplifies modest sophistication and poise.

The actress looked simply spectacular in the floaty number, with bare arms, a hint of cleavage and the structured waist ensuring the frock was far from frumpy. However, it was the bejewelled cape attached to an embellished choker that stole the show, with the gold doted garment softly billowing around the actresses’ silhouette.

The look was completed with a pair of strappy silver stilettos and glittering diamond jewellery, while an understated bronze smoky eye and minimal nude lip beautifully complimented the ensemble.

Larson, 27, relies on the help of stylist Samantha McMille, who’s also responsible for dressing Elle Fanning and Cary Mulligan.

2016 saw capes burst onto the bridal scene, with more and more women demonstrating that the trend wasn’t just for superheroes. Quirky yet elegant, the humble cape is one of the simplest to showcase your individuality and romantic tendencies on your big day.

But, most importantly, they’re undeniably epic when a gust of wind hits you!
