The Emergence of Content Creators in Weddings
In 2025, Wedding content is not limited to just photography and long-form videography; it also needs to be created for shareability on social media platforms. This is where wedding content creators come in.
Jasmine and Wendy discussed the emerging necessity and trend of Content Creators at weddings, sharing the need for content creators, stating that:
“The photographer and the videographer are there for the family… I feel like some of the elements that content creators capture — the behind-the-scenes, the setup, the design elements — are the parts that tell the full story.”
Content Creators help to capture the in-between moments, the behind-the-scenes, and most importantly, the raw emotions felt in those moments that tell the full story of that couple’s wedding day.
Jasmine raised a barrier that she faced when she started Australia Weddings Official. Initially, some photographers and videographers were against working with a content creator as they did not fully understand the difference between their roles. They essentially felt threatened, as if the wedding content creators would eliminate the need for wedding photographers and videographers. But that is simply not the case.
Or as Jasmine puts it…
“There’s a little bit of a divide between the photographer and the videographer… but content creators do not get in the way. We will never get in the way of your professional shot.”
“We’re not here to take anyone’s job away. We’re being hired. We’re wanted here.”
Jasmine Homa’s Unexpected Start
Jasmine was not always interested in becoming a wedding content creator or joining the wedding industry. From her personal experience at her brother’s wedding, she saw the need for a content creator saying;
“At my brother’s wedding, I wasn’t in one shot. I was running around all day. I thought — imagine how many sisters, friends, moms miss being part of the memories. That’s when I knew: I could be that person capturing it for them.”
At first, others did not see Jasmine’s vision and the need for wedding content creators, but…
“By the third wedding, everyone was like, ‘Okay — you’re a necessity now.’ It wasn’t an addition anymore.”
The Evolution of Weddings and Visual Storytelling
In today’s environment, everyone has the ability to be a content creator. Every guest who attends a wedding has the opportunity to capture the day.
So why hire a wedding content creator?
Quality, experience, and storytelling.
“Everyone is a content creator. Every single person who has a phone technically is. But what we do is different — we follow a sequence, we tell a story. We’re the shadow behind the couple, showing what’s really happening through their eyes.”
Wedding Content creators capture moments that guests are not present for. The quiet moment before walking down the aisle, a glance between the couple before entering the reception. These memories are priceless, and guests do not have the access to capture these moments.
“Weddings today are about showcasing a love story, a family, a brand. It’s no longer just a celebration — it’s a visual narrative.”
Wedding Content Creators have the opportunity to use visual storytelling to authentically show the couple’s love story. They can capture the smallest moments full of erupting emotion and preserve these priceless memories. Preserving the story of the couple’s Wedding day from a different perspective, capturing all aspects of the day.
Industry Pushback and Being a Disruptor
Not everyone in the industry was on board with Jasmine’s vision for Wedding Content creation.
“When you do something new in a traditional market, it’s always seen as disruptive. But disruptors are the ones who change the world.”
Jasmine caused major disruptions and changed the wedding industry as we know it!
“Every single component used to be met with, ‘We can’t do that.’ Now it’s expected. Back then, venues wouldn’t even allow dance floors — now it’s a given.”
Disruption can be good! The world and this industry are constantly evolving and changing to meet the needs of clients and keep up with the growth in technology. Do not be afraid to push back and make changes, unique ideas revolutionise the industry!
“The ones who pushed back — the stylists, the planners, the content creators — they’re the ones who made a name for themselves.”
On Launching Jasmine Studios
Jasmine spoke further on the launch of Australia Weddings Official’s sister brand, Jasmine Studios. Jasmine Studios is a non-wedding Content creation brand, Its focus is on capturing commercial brand events.
“Traditionally, people used their websites to share their brand. Now, their website is social media.”
Tips for Vendors incoming!
“Jasmine Studios focuses on everything from fashion and shoes to commercial content for vendors. We tell business stories the same way we tell love stories — with care, creativity, and authenticity.”
Are you a wedding vendor? Do you need help promoting your business?
Visibility and Showing Up for Your Brand
You are your brand. Clients are likely to choose a brand based on the impression they get upon conversing and meeting you, as well as based on your previous work.
“People don’t book you just because of your brand. They book you for you. They want to connect with you. They want to connect with the business. They want to have some sort of relationship with you.”
Jasmine confesses that…
“Without putting my face on social media, I wouldn’t have the clients or the presence I do today.”
It is so important that clients understand you, your perspective and your way of work. If they like what they see, they are more likely to choose you as their vendor.
“You don’t need to be a content creator. You just need to be able to speak about who you are. Let the content creator work their magic.”
Growth, Mindset, and Motivation
Wendy and Jasmine spoke about their motivations for growing their businesses, discussing the struggles behind their growth. They referenced the famous Denzel Washington quote…
“If you do not fail, then you are not even trying.” – Denzel Washington
And acknowledged that growing is difficult.
“What’s so hard is growing. But what’s harder is not growing. Staying still is staying still.”
Times are always changing, the industry is evolving always, and staying still will get you left behind.
