Travelling around Tasmania in a camper van and discovering one of Australia’s most beautiful places is an amazing experience. Being proposed to only makes the experience more spectacular, as Allira discovered.
“Before our holiday, Ryan had secretly contacted a lovely gentleman we know who is a retired jeweller and together they had designed an engagement ring, which is very special,” she told us.
“Ryan carried the ring all over Tasmania waiting for the right moment, and proposed at sunset at a place called Beauty Point on the Tamar River. After that, it seemed like the right thing to do was to crack open a Tassie sparkling wine and eat too many oysters.”
Dressed in a stunning Wendy Makin gown, Allira even got to meet the Australian designer in person. Featuring bold lace and a racer back design, the dress was a perfect match to the wedding’s vintage tone. With the help of wedding stylists from Gene and Peta, Ryan and Allira’s wedding at Fairfield Boathouse was complete with special decorative touches and a gorgeous eucalyptus arch under which they were married by their close friend.
Adding a personal touch to the wedding were the invitation created by Ryan, which perfectly suited the theme, as well as the bunting which Allira admits she spent too much time on.
“Try not to fall down the steps of the restaurant the night before your wedding like I did,” said Allira. “It makes tackling stairs on your way to the altar in high heels very nerve racking.”
