Zac and Zena were just 10 years old when they first met and remained friends over the years … eventually marrying 15 years later!
The special proposal moment came at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland, where Zac had taken Zena, under the impression they were going to watch a rugby game – but little did she know what he had planned!
“When we arrived, no one was there and I became suspicious. He told me to come for a walk on the rugby field and as soon as we stepped on the field, the stadium lights opened and the projector screen had the question “Will you marry me?” followed by a slideshow of photos taken during our relationship. After feeling amazed and in awe at Zak’s proposal, I gladly accepted. Our family and friends were jumped out of the corporate box to surprise me and we partied the night away at the stadium!” We love this amazing proposal!
Fast-track to their dream wedding held at Auckland Museum, where classical and unconventional came together perfectly. The stunning grand foyer of the Museum was the perfect entrance for the guests to enjoy drinks before the party moved up to the main reception room; an elevated glass dome with 360-degree views overlooking Auckland city. The city skyline provided the perfect backdrop for the wedding as the couple and their guests were spoiled with views of the sunset on the clear summer’s day then danced the night away under the sparkling stars.
Reflecting back on their special day, the couple told Wedded Wonderland, “The wedding was a perfect day for us both. It felt like a dream for us both from the moment we met down the aisle, to our last dance of the night.”
Be inspired, Fairies!
