Dessert is always a good idea, especially when the sweet treat is a surprise proposal.
In the lead up to the proposal, Johnny had covered his tracks by repeatedly insisting that the next time they went out to eat they would have to go to The Meat & Wine Co – the place where they had their first date – as he was disappointed with every other restaurant they went to. Laura thought nothing of this, so by the time they finally booked dinner, she was taken by surprise when Johnny popped the question.
After we ate he asked if I wanted dessert, I said no and he said ‘Read the menu, we’ll share.” I thought, ‘He never shares!’ As I opened the menu he had written “Will you marry me?” on the inside!”
Wearing a Valentina gown from long-time friend, Bonita Couture, Laura said the wedding day was perfect, with guests eagerly complimenting her on how beautiful the day was later.
The wedding had a romantic rose gold theme, which included tables decorated with rose gold tea lights, candles, and centrepieces made of roses and greenery, all contrasted against black tablecloths.
Johnny kept the surprises going by keeping their first dance song a secret.
“Johnny organised our first dance, he didn’t tell me what song he chose. He wanted the dry ice and fireworks to complete it. I hadn’t cried the whole day and as we began dancing I realised the song was ‘Beautiful In My Eyes’ by Joshua Kadison and I teared up. It was so beautiful.”
Congratulations to Laura and Johnny!
