A Non-Stop Party At Miramare Gardens

At their son, Levi’s, first birthday party and Christening, Austin took Jodie by surprise by asking her to marry him.

“Towards the end of his speech, he said there was one person in particular that he wanted to thank. I truly thought he was going to say his mum, but when he said my name, I just burst into tears,” Jodie told us. “Then through all the tears and emotions, he got down on one knee and the entire room erupted into cheers and I cried even louder!”

Their son Levi was their ring-bearer and almost stole the show, tripping down the aisle but brushing it off with an infectious smile. During the ceremony, he lost interest in his job and decided to rest against the train of his mother’s wedding dress.

Jodie and Austin’s wedding was a modern affair, one that the couple wanted “to feel like a big party.”

“We didn’t want just another cookie-cutter wedding that follows traditions of what a wedding ‘is supposed to be like.’ We only chose elements of a wedding celebration that meant something significant to us.”

The reception had its own unique touches, with each guest having a personalised cookie table setting and table numbers within photo frames that guests could take home. Austin and Jodie’s decision to have a photo booth at the reception also proved to be a massive hit, with guests leaving with handfuls of photos.

Levi had all eyes on him at the reception too, with his non-stop dancing keeping everyone entertained. With their son by their side and another baby on the way, Jodie and Austin’s wedding felt extra special for their growing family.

“Our little boy is the light of our lives and we are so happy that he was able to be a part of our wedding, and that he’ll forever be in the memories and photos. I was also four months pregnant with our second baby – a little girl! – and feel so blessed that our little family of four could all be present during such a huge milestone!”
