Priscilla and Peter’s journey to matrimony is a modern-day fairy tale that began in the most ordinary of settings – the workplace. What started as a professional relationship nine years ago gradually blossomed into an inseparable bond. “It was a transition from colleagues to friends, and then best friends, but without any romantic feelings initially,” Priscilla recalls. It was only after they found themselves single and working closely on a project that the sparks truly began to fly. Fast forward through ten months of dating, a romantic proposal, and a year and a half later, they were ready to say ‘I do’.

The Proposal: A Rainy Surprise
Peter’s proposal plan was nothing short of idyllic – a private boat trip around Sydney Harbour, complete with champagne and the stunning February weather. However, Mother Nature had other plans, turning the perfect scenario into a hilarious and heartwarming memory. “Amidst torrential rain, Peter got down on one knee in a puddle, with rocky waves around us,” Priscilla laughs, describing it as the most ‘imperfectly perfect’ proposal.
Wedding Highlights: A Unique Celebration
Priscilla and Peter’s wedding stood out for its distinctive elements, expertly brought to life by the DK team. Straying from traditional wedding norms, they opted for a dark theme, illuminated with bright lighting and a unique color palette that steered clear of the conventional roses, pinks, and whites. “Our favorite part was how our parents walked in together, symbolizing the union of two families,” Priscilla shares, reflecting on the deep personal significance of their wedding day.
The Inspiration: Black and Green Design
The wedding’s striking black and green design stemmed from the couple’s desire for a dark and moody vibe. Collaborating with Seed Flora and White Label Design Builds, they created a ‘moss mountain’ concept as a key styling feature, complete with custom structures for the bridal area and doughnut tables cascading onto the dance floor.
From Mood Board to Reality
Initially inspired by a winter wonderland theme, Priscilla’s vision evolved into a modern, moody ambiance with LED lighting and clean, sculptural florals. This transformation from mood board to wedding day reality was a collaborative effort, beautifully executed by the couple and their trusted suppliers.
A Magical Wedding Day
Reflecting on their favorite wedding moment, Priscilla and Peter share, “The lead-up was a bit stressful, but the actual day was complete magic. We were able to focus solely on each other and our guests, thanks to our amazing suppliers who we trusted implicitly.”
European Romance: The Honeymoon
For their honeymoon, the couple embarked on a grand tour of Europe, exploring the cultural richness of France, Spain, Greece, and Italy over seven weeks. “We are loving every minute of it,” says Priscilla, encapsulating the joy of their newlywed adventures.
