A Garden Chateau Wedding at Oatlands House

Sometimes, it’s all about being in the right place at the right time.

After a day at work, Carla was on her way to the train station when he bumped into a friend who happened to be with Dean. The friend introduced the two and so began their journey together.

On a romantic weekend away at the Hunter Valley, Dean took Carla to the Audrey Wilkinson Winery where Carla began to notice that Dean was nervous and rambling. As they were sitting in secluded grass area, Carla watched as Dean got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife.

When it came time to the wedding, Carla had a vision in mind of what she wanted – simple yet elegant, they originally had a vineyard wedding in mind in the Hunter Valley or Southern Highlands. However, as it would be difficult for their 110 guests to attend, they instead chose Oatlands House, where the wedding took place in the garden Chateau, complete with white curtains, flowers, and fairy lights behind the main table.

The guests tables were slightly more quirky with fishbowls on each and a tall crystal-flared candlestick as a centrepiece.

Celebrating with their family and friends and watching everyone enjoy themselves on the dance floor, Carla and Dean couldn’t be happier. As Carla told us, “When I saw Dean for the first time, I felt so relaxed.”

Their secret to a strong relationship? “Be best friends and share in lots of laughter.”

Congratulations to Carla and Dean!
