A Fairytale Wedding In Adelaide

Fairies, if you know us – you know we’re suckers for adorable love stories! This stunning couple, Bianca and Mark, met on a blind date! Here’s how it went down…

The Love Story

Bianca worked with Clara, the woman who set them up, and Mark is good friends with Clara’s husband. After seeing a photo of Mark, Bianca’s mouth hit the floor – she had nothing to lose, so she thought; why not?! Mark was also shown a picture of Bianca, and the pair agreed to go on this double date/blind date. Two days later, Clara informed Bianca that Mark wanted to cancel. Bianca was surprised, but Clara explained that her husband and herself had unsuccessfully tried to set Mark up many times, and he was over it.

“When I heard that, I saw red, I’m a catch – I’m not like those other women hahaha! So, I cancelled as well. On the day of the now-cancelled date, my friend messaged me and said for us to go, anyway. Mark was there, and the rest is history! We bonded over our love for the same snacks and junk foods, but more importantly, the spark and connection we felt was instant and we knew from the first date that this was going to go somewhere. Three-and-a-half years later, and we are now married! All thanks to Clara, and her husband, Michael – lucky we both still went on that blind date!”

The Best Moment Of The Wedding

“The best moment was walking down the aisle to see my soon-to-be husband – I had missed him terribly. Arriving at the church, I was so excited. I had smiles from ear to ear but at the same time, I was very nervous. When the double doors opened and I heard the quartet playing Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years’, seeing my soon-to-be husband with tears in his eyes was honestly the best moment of my life. The love I have for this man, and the love he has for me, is out of this world. This was the best moment because leading up to the wedding, I asked him if he would cry. And I always received a no – so, I honestly didn’t think he would. In all our years together, I’ve never seen him cry! This is how I knew that those tears were of joy and love. It was the most heart-warming day of my life.”

The Most Unique Part Of The Wedding

“I have always been obsessed with fireworks ever since I was a little girl, so I knew I had to have fireworks at my wedding. In Adelaide, the wedding scene is very repetitive. We tried to think outside the box and we wanted shake it up a little and surprise everyone. Our DJ/MC advised the guests to head outside because we had a surprise to share with them! We stood underneath the stars, Mark and I danced and lived in the moment. It was breathtaking and magical. Everyone loved it. We feel that we tried to break the mould of weddings here in Adelaide, drawing in on a little bit of Sydney and Melbourne wedding standards!”

Final Thoughts

“To be honest, we are super grateful and blessed to be one of the last weddings in Adelaide before the Coronavirus restrictions. We thank God every day that we were still able to get married, and start our journey together as husband and wife. To think we could have been one of those couples that had to postpone their dream day… We just can’t imagine how we would have reacted. But love always conquers any obstacle you are faced with. Love is what is important. Our day was a blessing, filled with so much love. Everyone at the wedding boasted about how much love there was in the room. Mark is the love of my life and I am so blessed to have married my best friend, and can’t wait to see what the future brings us.”
