A Christmas Proposal And A Wedding On Bendooley Estate

The start to Amy and Damien’s love story is a Christmas affair, and they even had their dog on board to witness the sweet proposal.

“I had no clue as I was opening up the gift which was the size of a shoe box, and extremely heavy (I thought it was a candle),” said Amy.

“When I unwrapped the gift I saw a silver tool box. I was so confused, but when I opened the box and saw the ring box I tried not to get excited in case it was a necklace!

“Damien got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was beautiful.”

Reflecting on her walk down the aisle, Amy said, “The most memorable moment for me was when I saw Damien at the end of the altar, even though I have been with him for 9 years. Nothing can explain that feeling.”

Like any bride, Amy could do with a funny moment to calm the nerves, which is exactly what happened before her walk down the aisle.

“My first bridesmaid had already walked off and my Maid of Honour was just about to leave when a bus dropping off some late guests drove right in front of us. This was a funny moment! I needed something like that to happen to calm me down.”

Apart from the beautiful venue that is Bendooley Estate, Damien was a helpful groom, assisting in bringing his bride Amy’s vision to life.

“We did a few things ourselves like setting up the arbour and putting signs out. He just did it all because he knew i wanted them. He was such a gem.”
