Eleanor and Damian’s love story began when they were just fifteen-years-old. Fast-forward eight years and the couple celebrated together in a wedding that Eleanor called a “celebration of cultures and an intimate affair.”
When it came to the proposal, this couple had something in common with our royal newly-weds, Harry and Meghan. They were on their first “big trip” together, exploring Europe and visiting Damian’s family for Christmas Eve in England. England isn’t where the royal similarity strikes though.
“It was Christmas Eve and the coldest night we’ve ever felt. He took me to the “Long Walk” out the front of Windsor Castle (where Meghan and Prince Harry got married). He gave me our usual Christmas Card, in which he had poured out his heart.
“I turned around and saw he had very dramatically and quickly scattered rose petals and went down on one knee. He asked ‘Will you marry me?’ We both cried and no longer felt the cold! I said yes!”
Their wedding had an industrial-chic theme that blended Damian’s Chilean heritage with Eleanor’s Anglo-Saxon one, a dance-floor that was never empty, and a lavish aerial floral-scape in a stunning red, burgundy and blush palette.
Reflecting on the day, Eleanor said, “Damian teared up in his memorable speech. The vows we shared together in the church replayed in my head the entire night. Laughter and many tears were shared. My dad was the MC and he and was amazing! I take my hat off to him!”
Eleanor was surprisingly calm on the day of the wedding, describing it as a “complete state of bliss.”
Her favourite moment was her entrance.
“We broke down into booty shaking and Damian’s Latino shaking hips to Beyoncé’s ‘Crazy In Love’! It was so much fun!”
