Meghan Markle is pushing the royal boundaries when it comes to fashion. Her style is classic, elegant, and feminine and best of all, it feels achievable for the everyday woman. Everything Meghan touches turns to gold. Well, it actually doesn’t turn to gold, but it sure does sell out very quickly after she has been seen wearing it.
So we have a breakdown of Meghan’s royal style and found similar pieces that will have you looking like a modern day princess.
Statement Coats

It can get pretty cold in London, so a coat functions more as a necessity rather than a statement for the Royals. She has embraced both practicality and style by wearing a Burberry Double-Breasted Tartan Coat during her trip to Scotland. The coat is currently sold out on Net-a-Porter, but luckily for us, statement coats are set to be a huge trend for winter and there are plenty of offerings in stores.

Stackable Rings

While she would have access to a some of the most magnificent jewels in the world, on a daily basis, Meghan keeps her jewellery understated. She is a big fan of dainty, stackable rings and has been spotted wearing designs by Catbird which are -unsurprisingly- sold out on Net-a-Porter.

Mismatched Earrings

Mismatched earrings are another way Meghan adds quirk to her royal style. She has worn an earring (yes, singular not plural) by Los-Angeles designers Zofia Day and Gabriela Artigas & Company at the same time for a royal engagement, which received plenty of praise from the fashion-forward. Mismatched earrings are a great way to add a playful element to a classic, structured outfit.

Pants

Forget Suits, Meghan is all about the pants. Unlike her sister-in-law, Meghan is a penchant for classic black pants. She has been known to wear them, opposed to the more conservative skirt, at many royal engagements. Meghan flips between black tailored trousers and silky wide leg pants, always paired with either a fine knit jumper or crisp white blouse. Pants are the practical option for the busy woman, hence their appeal, but they can sometimes feel boring. Meghan has refreshed the tailored pant by styling them in a way that feels both feminine and strong.

Pointed Stiletto

The easiest way to elevate your outfit is by putting on pair of heels. Meghan always opts for a variation of the timeless pointed stiletto, and it’s understandable why. The shoe basically becomes an extension of your body. The pointed toe elongates and lengths to give the illusion of height and this is enhanced if the shoe is nude in colour.

Crossbody Bag
via Pure Trend
Diana made the clutch bags famous (or cleavage bags, as she nicknamed them) and Meghan is doing same for the crossbody bag. She has been spotted wearing them to a handful of royal events and our biceps rejoice! There is currently a pre-order list to purchase the Strathberry East/West Mini in Bottle Green which Meghan wore during her Edinburgh tour. Like with most of her style, practicality is a big factor for Meghan. Crossbody bags are not only uber stylish, but they also leave your hands free to wave regally to your fans.
