Table of Contents
1. Vow Mad Libs
If you’ve seen the countless number of Mad Libs videos on YouTube you’ll know how funny this game is. Now give it a wedding spin. Print out traditional vows, leaving blanks for nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Then ask each guest to give a word for each category. The bride then reads her new and improved wedding vows. Let the hilarity ensue!
2. The Nearly-Wed Game
The groom prerecords answers to a serious of relationship questions (“who said I love you first?”) on video. The bride is asked the same questions and then the video is played to see if she was right. This game is surprisingly entertaining, especially when the bride gets the answers terribly wrong.
3. Guest Who?
The perfect ice breaker game. You give your guests a few minutes to circulate the room and chit chat with other guests collecting as much information as possible. Then much like the game of guess who, they’ll have a checklist of characteristics that will be the clues to finding which guest is which.
Here are some super cute pre-made game cards from Etsy.
4. Wedding Traditions Explained
Educational and fun this game questions why we have certain wedding traditions. Make a list of all the wedding tradition, then guests will need to choose an answer from 3 different explanations and see whether they’re right. Each correct answer gets a point, the guest with the most points at the end of the game wins a prize (chocolates anyone?)
5. Fantasy Date
Each guest writes the name of her dream celebrity date on a card. Everyone tries to match the date with the guest. To make the game a little trickier, have the guests fill the other side with their celeb date from hell. Guests will have to guess not only who wrote it, but also which side is which.
Bonus Game – Put a Ring on it.
Every guest gets a plastic wedding ring (or giant inflatable engagement ring!) at the beginning of the shower. Every time the guest says keywords such as ‘bride’, ‘groom’ or ‘wedding’ another guest is allowed to steal her ring. The guest with the most rings wins.
