If you were betting on Ralph & Russo as the royal wedding designer – well, you were wrong.
Claire Waight Keller for Givenchy is the mystery designer behind Meghan’s wedding gown and it is everything we imagined it to be.
With a boat neckline, long sleeves (as is tradition), a sleek silhouette and a dazzling tiara, the gown is very much Meghan – minimal, modern and elegant.
With the help of two pageboys to carry her lengthy veil, Meghan made her way to the altar at St. George’s Chapel, meeting Prince Charles halfway to take her the rest of the way.
Harry looked both nervous and excited, smiling at his new bride and sneaking in a compliment, saying “you look amazing” before the ceremony began.
The simple Givenchy gown resembled that of Princess Mary of Denmark, another people’s favourite. For her 2004 wedding to Prince Frederik, the Australian bride chose to wear a similar gown by Uffe Frank, boasting a similar neckline, sleeves and extravagant tiara.
