In the first Wedding at the White House since 2013, President Joe Biden’s eldest granddaughter, Naomi Biden, married Peter Neal on the South Lawn in front of 250 guests.
“It has been a joy to watch Naomi grow, discover who she is, and carve out such an incredible life for herself,” Mr. Biden and Jill Biden, the first lady, said in a statement. “Now, we are filled with pride to see her choose Peter as her husband and we’re honored to welcome him to our family. We wish them days full of laughter and a love that grows deeper with every passing year.”
The Bride, Naomi, wore a custom-made lace Wedding dress by Ralph Lauren inspired by Grace Kelly for her ceremony and changed into a silk Reem Acra Silhouette for the reception and cake cutting festivities.
Lebanese-American Designer Reem Acra had the honour of custom designing Naomi’s reception gown and dresses for the First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. Like grandmother, like granddaughter!
For an intimate touch, Acra detailed Naomi’s strapless ivory silk Mikado dress with her grandmother Roberta Buhle’s pearls. Reem sewed these treasured pearls into the sweeping six-foot train for the Bride’s black-tie reception.
For the ceremony, Dr. Biden wore a silk chiffon dress with a teal wool crepe coat and carried this colour over to the reception in an embroidered seafoam blue dress designed by Acra.
The Wedding was produced and designer by international Planner Rafanelli Events, “I am honored to have had the opportunity to bring Peter and Naomi’s vision for their Wedding day to life and to work in this historic house once again. As with every private celebration, we have worked closely with the couple and their families to create a beautiful and elegant celebration reflecting their story while highlighting the rich history of the White House” Bryan F. Rafanelli, founder of Rafanelli Events shared on his Instagram.
