Wedded Wonderland predicts: The wedding gown trends for 2017

If you’re a bride planning a 2017 wedding, then this is for you! The Wedded Wonderland team have released their insider predictions for the styles, cuts and shapes of the wedding gowns that will be trending next year.

The best part? There’s something for every bride! From the modest Fairy, to the fashionista to the simple and chic bride, we’ve got you covered.

1. The Cinderella Ballgown

If you though the 2016 princess gowns were big, wait until you see the skirts that 2017 brides will be wearing! We’re talking voluminous, tulle-laden creations that will give you a serious Cinderella moment. You’ll see a resurgence of silk-covered skirts (a la’ Victoria Beckham’s wedding gown), as well as straight, raw-edged tulle skirts. The trick to nailing this trend is to opt for a sleek, streamlined bodice to balance it out.

2. Off-the-Shoulder

The off-the-shoulder trend is not going anywhere in 2017 and for good reason! This gorgeous look shows of the collarbones like a strapless gown, hides arms and gives a bit of extra support – making it flattering and comfortable for girls with a slightly bigger bust!

3. Modern Minimalist

Strong, bold cuts paired with minimalist embellishments will be this season’s answer for the chic bride. Our tip is to look for a gown with an unexpected feature, like an unusual neckline, removable skirt or a pop of beading, as this will really give your modern minimalist wedding dress an edge!

4. The Vintage Victorian

A contemporary take on the 1800s heavy lace, tight corsetry and dramatic silhouettes, the vintage Victorian is the perfect trend to embrace if you’re a modest bride looking for a gown that gives you a little more coverage.
